Auckland Branch July Translators Cafe

We are excited to announce our next translators' café will take place on Wednesday 31st July between 6:30pm and 8:30pm in the Pat Hanan room at the University of Auckland.

The event is an informal discussion and a great opportunity to share your insights and network with like-minded professionals. You will be able to talk in groups about three topics, relevant to the profession and picked for that evening according to the following agenda:

  • Rates and payment: How do you decide on your rates, how and when do you increase them and how do you negotiate with clients? How do you get paid, what payment options do you offer, how do you transfer money, what fees are charged and what do you do when a client doesn’t pay?
  • Invoicing practices and job tracking: What software/tools do you use, when do you do your invoicing or job tracking and why did you choose your system/method?
  • Finding new clients: How do you find new clients, what do they require as proof of your experience/quality, how do you retain them?

DATE: WEDNESDAY, 31 JULY 2019, 6.30 p.m - 8.30 p.m

VENUE: University of Auckland, Arts 2 Building, 18 Symonds St, Level 5, room 501 (Patrick Hanan Room)
