The topic of this joint presentation is: 
“Mental Health Interactions and Interpreters”

Speaker: Dr Jim Hlavac

Dr Jim Hlavac is a senior lecturer in Translation and Interpreting Studies at Monash University. He is a NAATI accredited and practising professional interpreter and translator and has 20 years’ experience as an interpreter in health, legal and educational settings. He has published widely in the field of Translation and Interpreting Studies and also in the related disciplines of multilingualism, contact linguistics and intercultural communication. In this presentation at AUT he will talk about Guidelines for interpreters and interpreters’ perspectives.

TIME:  6.00pm - Drinks, nibbles and conversation.
           6.30 - 7.30pm - Speaker
           7.30 - 8.00pm - Question time, event finishing at 8pm.

VENUE: AUT tower, room WT802. We will signpost it in the downstairs lobby and if the room number is changed, the signpost will direct you to the new room. AUT tower is on the corner of Rutland Street and Wakefield St, Auckland CBD.
