NZSTI Auckland branch March meeting

VENUE: University of Auckland, Arts 2 Building, 18 Symonds St, Level 5, room 501 (Patrick Hanan Room) 

SPEAKER: John Ferner, commercial lawyer and consultant with Brookfields Lawyers 

TOPIC: "Terms and Conditions: How useful are they and what should they say?"

John will be taking a closer look at the sample terms and conditions provided for NZSTI members on the NZSTI website and explain the advantages and pitfalls of having T&C’s or signing translation agency or client T&C’s and the reasons behind some clauses.

The evening will start at 6.30 pm with juice and nibbles and time for socialising and networking before the talk.

ACCESS: after-hours access to the Arts 2 building is via the door on Level 3, then up two floors to the Patrick Hanan Room (i.e. from Level 3 to Level 5). Please note that the entrance off Symonds Street is the Level 4 door, which may be locked after hours. Attendees have to go down one flight of steps outside the building from street level to get to the Level 3 entrance on the courtyard level.

PARKING: car parking in the surrounding city streets is free after 5 p.m., but very limited. Paid parking is available for a flat evening rate of $6 in the Owen Glenn Building (Business School), 12 Grafton Road:
