Presentation by US interpreter educator at AUT for NZSTI members
5.30pm, 2 February 2017, Auckland, New Zealand
This interactive workshop will spend the evening exploring emerging paradigms for the interpreting profession. Drawing on the Demand-Control Schema as articulated by Dean & Pollard and the concept of Role-Space from Llwellyn-Jones & Lee, we will discuss the professional values for interpreting and the shift in conceptual framework and in the United States. In our discussion, we will see how that applies to the context of interpreting in New Zealand.
This session will be livestreamed so NZSTI and SLIANZ members around the country can ‘attend’.
