FIT 60th CELEBRATION IN MALAYSIA

We would be honoured to have as many of our honorary advisors and the chairs of our member associations join us at our celebration of FIT's 60th anniversary in Penang, Malaysia. Tuesday 27 August we will celebrate at the opening ceremony and the conference dinner. We will put all congratulatory messages in a display.

Without its many dedicated volunteers FIT would not be where it is today. Countless committee members, Council officers and not least the 11 presidents have contributed innumerable hours of their valuable time to implement the vision of 1953. For all this work we thank them. Meetings, congresses, documents, miles of travels and joyful networking have fostered a communal feeling of a FIT family or network for the profession spanning the globe. The goal remains the same: to promote the role of translators, terminologists  and interpreters in society and to raise awareness of the importance of the profession. The challenges have changed somewhat, but the work continues – for many years to come.

We hope that you will celebrate with us in Malaysia or next year in Berlin.
