Speaker: Angela Kölling

NZSTI Affiliate Angela Kölling will share her experience at this year’s Crossroads in Cultural Studies conference in Paris.

Angela will:

  • explain why she went there and how it benefited her research
  • present a brief outline of the research that she is hoping to undertake in the future in the area of translators' interactions
  • listen to feedback

Angela Kölling is a part-time tutor in the English and the German Department at the University of Auckland. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Auckland and a MA in English from the University of Osnabrück. She is the author of Writing on the Loose (2012), a book based on her research on the translation of creative nonfiction into different cultural and historical contexts. Her current research focuses on the role of translation and translators in the development and maintenance of meaningful encounters across difference.

Access to the Arts 2 Building is through the main entrance on Symonds St and then up one floor.

Follow the signs to the Patrick-Hanan Room.

Remember, parking in the surrounding city streets is free after 6 p.m., but very limited. Paid parking is available for a flat evening rate of $6 in the Owen Glenn Building (Business School), 12 Grafton Road.

So come and meet your colleagues for an interesting and informative evening, some socialising and networking. Refreshments will be served before the presentation.

We look forward to seeing you.
