Translation Memory Workshop

NZSTI is pleased to offer the following Translation Memory workshop:

This four-session, twelve-hour workshop aims at introducing participants to modern electronic translation environments, and providing them with practical advice on how terminology management and translation memory systems, among others, can best be integrated into the translation process.

Participants will be introduced to computer-assisted terminology management, using the market-leading terminology management system SDL Multiterm Desktop 2011.

The workshop will also offer hands-on experience in the use of one proprietary translation memory system, namely SDL Trados Studio 2011, as well as an overview of free translation memory tools such as OmegaT.

In so doing, participants will be exposed to both proprietary and free, i.e. open source translation memory systems, which support common features such as:

project management, translation memory management and translation memory maintenance, terminology management, word counts and statistical reports, editing of different file formats, quality assurance, etc.
