Advance notice: book time in your diaries now for NZSTI’s next annual conference.

The 2009 NZSTI conference will be held in Wellington at the Massey University campus on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July.  All day sessions are expected to begin at 9.00 am both days.  There will be an informal social function on the evening of Friday 10 July, and optional workshops and tours (Parliament, the Courts, translation services etc) on Monday 13 July.  The AGM is provisionally scheduled from 3.30 to 4.30 on Sunday.

Please note that this is a departure from the current practice of holding the conference over Queen’s Birthday Weekend, at the request of many who wanted to spend the long weekend with family and friends.

The conference will be run jointly with Te Kāhui Kaiwhakamāori o Aotearoa (the Māori language translators group) with the support of Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori/the Māori Language Commission.  There will be potential for some combined and some separate sessions.  A call for papers and invitations to register will follow, once the programme outline has been confirmed.

If you have any questions at this stage, please contact members of NZSTI’s Wellington branch: christine.goodman@interpret.org.nz  or Patrick@nztcinternational.com
